Submissions
Angeleno Avenue publishes and co-publishes children's books, young adult fiction and non-fiction, short stories, and poetry. Our publishing company specializes in literary projects that promote culture, positive self-identity, education, and community. Once submitted, our editorial department will evaluate your work, and determine if your project qualifies for our co-publishing program. The quality and marketability of your project, our ability to provide support to the project, and the ability of the author to participate in facilitating the promotion of the project are all important factors in making our decisions.
Your first step is to submit the following to our editorial department:
· Author bio
· Cover letter describing and distinguishing your project
· First three chapters of your book, not to exceed 10 MB
Once these requirements have been met, our editorial department evaluates your project to determines if your work is a fit. This part of the process occurs within 4 to 6 weeks. If your work is accepted for publication, we will:
· Send you our co-publishing agreement
· Once we have received the signed agreement, our editors will edit and proof your manuscript making necessary corrections and making suggestions to improve the project. We then submit the project back to you for your approval.
· Assign an AAP consultant to manage your project through our process
· Assign your project with an ISBN, bar code, and register its copyright in your name
· Send your project to print after consulting with you for choices within our options (i.e. paperback, hardback, both, English, Spanish, etc.)
· Set up your project on our website, social media, and Amazon and other online stores.
· Send you 10 copies of your project and keep the remaining copies to fill orders
You will:
· Provide us with an electronic copy of your manuscript including any illustrations
· Be responsible for the marketing and promotion of your project
· Review and approve all stages of book production
· Assume the printing/publishing costs of your project
The entire co-publishing process will take approximately 8 - 10 months. The rights to your project belong solely to you.
